I’m Cade Jiwa, a dedicated student athlete from Austin, Texas, ready to embark on an exciting new chapter at the University of Texas at Austin in the School of Natural Sciences, where I’ll pursue a Pre-Med track with the dream of becoming a trauma surgeon. Dedicated to servant leadership, I’ve built my skills through a mix of academics, athletics, and family responsibilities. As a varsity football player and powerlifter at Lake Travis High School, I’ve embraced discipline and teamwork, earning honors like 2nd Team UIL All-State Academic and Special Teams Player of the Year. Off the field and out of the classroom, I’ve worked at Austin Tea Exchange, where my passion for customer service and attention to detail have consistently led to high tip averages.
My leadership shines brightest in supporting my younger siblings. During challenging family times, I stepped up to guide my brothers and sister through academics and personal growth, fostering resilience and empathy. A pivotal moment came when I helped save my brother’s life during a medical emergency, an experience that deepened my bond with him and inspired my career path. Witnessing the skill of the trauma surgeons who aided him solidified my mission to serve others in healthcare.
This fall, I’ll join the Naval ROTC at UT, eager to further develop my leadership while preparing for a future in medicine. With a strong foundation in science—reflected in my pursuit of seven science credits—and a disciplined approach to fitness, I’m excited to make a difference. I invite you to follow my journey as I navigate college, ROTC, and my path to becoming a trauma surgeon—stay tuned for updates!
